Cosworth (Replica)

I'd always wanted a real 2wd Sapphire Cosworth but couldn't afford one. So the next best thing is a decent replica. It was a surreal experience discovering this car. I was working as a van driver at the time and needed a car for the commute to the depot on a tight budget.

In the dark I drove passed a modified Sierra for sale that seeded the idea but when I saw it again in daylight it was a disappointing sight. I decided then it had to be a replica and not just a dustbin with added plastic.

Later that day, I drove passed a convincing replica costing just £1200. I couldn't stop and assumed it'd would be gone when I got back. Incredibly it was still there, so I quickly drew up a criteria that would fool - at a glance - a Cosworth enthusiast. It then passed that, so I phoned the guy with more questions.

And with every challenging question I put up a promising reply was returned until it got to the point I couldn't say no.

I didn't find the car; the car found me.
